RTD Zero Fare for Better Air


RTD Zero Fare

Ride free on RTD for all of August 2022! During the entire month of August, RTD will be offering zero fares across its system as part of the Zero Fare for Better Air initiative. This collaborative, statewide initiative was made possible by the Colorado State Senate 22-180 and the Colorado Energy Office. The initiative is designed to reduce ground level ozone by increasing the use of public transit during Colorado's high ozone season.

Mobility & Access for All Ages & Abilities Plan Public Hearing

The Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Thursday, July 28 at 1pm to consider the MAAAA for adoption. CPP Staff will provide a presentation on the MAAAA Strategies to improve multimodal transportation access for individuals with disabilities, older adults, Spanish-speaking households, veterans, youth, and other populations with unique transportation needs and gaps. The draft plan can be viewed here: https://boco.org/MAAAA At the meeting, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the MAAAA Strategies and planning process.

Boulder County Worthy Cause Grant

In the 2017 General Election, Boulder County voters approved an extension of the 0.05% Worthy Cause sales tax for a 15-year initiative to allocate a portion of sales tax to Boulder County nonprofit human service agencies for capitol projects. This includes the purchase of land or buildings, construction, renovation, or debt reduction. See what projects have previously won grants by clicking here.

The 2023 Worthy Cause VI Pool Funding Request is currently open. The application closes on August 19, 2022. Apply for the grant here.

The Colorado Energy Office (CEO) provides grants for electric vehicle charging stations. Grant funding to install EV charging stations is offered to fleets and entities located in the seven-county Denver Metro Area, including Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglass, and Jefferson Counties.

City of Boulder Vision Zero Public Comment: The City of Boulder is seeking public comments on their Vision Zero Action Plan that will help move the city to a goal of zero crash-related deaths and serious injuries on our streets as well as safety improvements on arterial streets.

Grant Opportunities

1. CDOT Division of Transit and Rail Notice of Funding Availability for 2023 Federal and State Transit Funding Super Call Capital, Planning, Administrative, Operating, and Mobility Management Projects. If an applicant has never received transit grant funding from CDOT, or has not received transit grant funding from CDOT in the last three years, a New Applicant Questionnaire is required to be completed and submitted to Emily Barden at emily.barden@state.co.us. The New Applicant Questionnaire is due by email no later than 5:00 pm MDT, Friday July 15, 2022.

2. FTA Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development Planning to support comprehensive or site-specific planning associated with new fixed guideway and core capacity improvement projects. Apply by July 25 to be considered for funding.

3. USDOT Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program is now open to all metropolitan planning organizations, counties, cities, towns, transit agencies, federally recognized Tribal governments, and multijurisdictional groups.. Apply by September 15, 2022 to be considered for funding.
