Boulder County, Colo. - On August 29, the Boulder County Sheriff’s responded to a request for a welfare check to check on an elderly female who resided in the 3900 block of Bosque Court, located in unincorporated Boulder County.

Upon entering the residence, a badly decomposed body was found. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office are investigating this unattended death. Due to the cause of death not being readily evident, this case is being treated as a homicide. Treating an investigation of this nature as a homicide is common practice and done out of an abundance of caution.

The identification of the decedent, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
