Purchase a Parks & Open Space Calendar

The 2024 Parks & Open Space calendars are now on sale. The calendar features beautiful photos highlighting some of Boulder County’s most significant natural and historical areas. Cost is $2 each plus shipping. Orders placed after Dec. 15 may not be delivered until January.

Winter Issue of Images

The winter issue of Images magazine is now available. Articles include Conservation Awards, Museum Mysteries, Perfect Pods – Spectacular Seeds, Winter Hideaways for Kids, Nature Detectives Mountain Lions, and Riverside Ranch Cultural Resource Survey Project.

East Boulder Creek Site (Prairie Run Open Space) Management Plan

The Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee voted to recommend the plan to the Board of County Commissioners with certain conditions regarding the 109th Street trailhead. Staff will present the plan and further analysis on Jan. 25.

Weed Management on Open Space

The public engagement schedule has been extended for the Integrated Weed Management Plan to review and incorporate requests from the public.

Trail and Park Closures

Several parks and trails are closed for construction, muddy trails, and other management activities. Closures include the Coalton Trailhead, Ron Stewart Preserve at Rabbit Mountain, and Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat.

Slash Pile and Prescribed Burns

Crews plan to conduct slash pile burns and prescribed burns this fall and winter when conditions allow.
